A-DIY Decking Systems Limited Product Warranty

Our Commitment

Thank you for choosing A-DIY Decking Systems.

A-DIY designs and supplies complete deck kit systems made for residential outdoor use. Our goal is simple: to deliver a professional-grade deck system with quality materials, engineered components, and clear assembly instructions.

This Limited Product Warranty explains what is covered, what is not covered, and how to submit a warranty claim if an issue arises.

Warranty Summary

A-DIY provides a 5-Year Limited Structural Warranty on eligible structural components supplied as part of A-DIY pressure-treated wood deck kits.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser and begins on the original date of purchase. If a covered component has a manufacturing defect that materially affects the structural integrity of the deck, A-DIY will, at its sole discretion, repair the defective component, replace the defective component, or provide replacement material of equal or greater value.

5-Year Limited Structural Warranty

A-DIY warrants that the structural pressure-treated wood components supplied by A-DIY will be free from manufacturing defects that result in a material loss of structural integrity under normal residential use for a period of five years from the original date of purchase.

Covered structural components may include:

  • Beams
  • Joists
  • Rim joists
  • Blocking
  • Structural posts
  • Stair framing
  • Structural fascia, where applicable
  • Other structural framing members supplied by A-DIY

This warranty covers the A-DIY-supplied structural components only. It does not cover installation labor, site conditions, footing systems not supplied by A-DIY, modifications, or damage caused by improper use, improper installation, or events outside A-DIY’s control.

Hardware and Connectors

Structural hardware supplied by A-DIY, including brackets, connectors, fasteners, hardware kits, and supplied accessories, is warranted to be free from manufacturing defects at the time of delivery.

Customers must inspect all hardware before installation begins. Any missing, damaged, or incorrect hardware must be reported to A-DIY before installation.

Once installation begins, A-DIY may determine that visible shortages, shipping damage, or incorrect parts that reasonably should have been identified before installation are no longer eligible for warranty Replacement.

Composite Decking

Composite deck boards supplied through A-DIY are manufactured by Deckorators® and are covered by the applicable Deckorators® manufacturer warranty for the specific product supplied.

Composite decking warranty claims may be subject to Deckorators’ own warranty terms, conditions, exclusions, claim process, and approval. A-DIY will provide reasonable assistance by supplying available purchase records or product documentation when required.

For current Deckorators warranty terms, customers should refer to Deckorators’ official warranty Documentation.

What This Warranty Covers

This Limited Warranty covers eligible manufacturing defects in A-DIY-supplied components, including:

  • Defective structural materials
  • Manufacturing errors
  • Incorrectly manufactured components
  • Structural failures caused by a manufacturing defect
  • Components that cannot be assembled because of a manufacturing error
  • Missing or incorrect components reported before installation begins

To qualify for coverage, the issue must be caused by a manufacturing defect and must materially affect the intended use, assembly, or structural integrity of the covered component.

Pressure-Treated Wood: Natural Characteristics

Pressure-treated lumber is a natural building material. As wood dries, settles, and adjusts to outdoor conditions, normal changes can occur.

Surface checking or small surface cracks

  • End checking
  • Minor splits
  • Natural knots
  • Minor twisting, bowing, or cupping
  • Expansion and contraction
  • Grain variation
  • Color variation
  • Weathering over time

These natural characteristics may occur whether the lumber is stained, sealed, painted, or left unfinished.

Minor cracks, checks, movement, or cosmetic imperfections that do not materially affect structural integrity are not covered under this warranty.

Warranty Review and Remedy

After receiving the required claim information, A-DIY will review the claim and determine whether the issue is covered under this Limited Warranty.

If A-DIY determines that the issue is covered, A-DIY will, at its sole discretion, provide one of the following remedies:

  • Repair guidance or replacement of the defective component
  • Replacement material of equal or greater value
  • Another reasonable remedy determined by A-DIY

Replacement components are covered only for the remaining term of the original warranty period.

Replacement does not restart or extend the original warranty period.

Transferability

This Limited Warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the A-DIY deck kit and is not transferable to any subsequent owner, buyer, or user unless approved by A-DIY in writing.

No Unauthorized Modifications

No dealer, distributor, installer, contractor, salesperson, customer service representative, or other person is authorized to modify, expand, or extend this Limited Warranty unless approved in writing by A-DIY.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, A-DIY’s liability under this Limited Warranty is limited to the repair, replacement, or supply of eligible replacement materials.

A-DIY shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, installation, use, delay, repair, replacement, or inability to use the product.

Some states do not allow limitations on certain implied warranties or exclusions of certain damages, so some limitations may not apply to you.

This Limited Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state.
